On May 4th 2025, Cartrack’s Recovery Team was dispatched after a vehicle was stolen during a house robbery in Khayelitsha, Cape Town.
Tracking data from the IoT device showed the vehicle moving through Gugulethu, and the team followed the live location until it was spotted. With assistance from the SAPS Flying Squad, the vehicle was successfully recovered, and six suspects were arrested.
The vehicle was booked into the Bellville South Impound, and the suspects were taken to the Gugulethu SAPS for processing.
On the night of June 13th 2025, Cartrack’s Recovery Team was dispatched to locate a stolen vehicle. Following the live location updates, the team traced the vehicle to Braamfischerville, Soweto. With the assistance of the SAPS, the vehicle was successfully recovered and two suspects were arrested.
During the arrest one suspect was found carrying a set of car keys in his pocket, which raised suspicion. Further investigation revealed that the keys belonged to another stolen vehicle discovered just two houses away. Both vehicles and the suspects were handed over to the SAPS.
