Every tracking system on the market relies on communication with the unit in the vehicle. The Cartrack system employs the GSM network – the most extensive, reliable and fastest growing communication network currently available to the vehicle tracking industry. Advanced use of GSM technology not only enables our recovery teams to accurately locate a vehicle, but also allows the client to track the movement of their vehicles via the internet. The GPS satellite technology employed by our comprehensive fleet management package provides the user with pinpoint accuracy in the monitoring of their vehicle fleet.

Cross-border coverage and recovery
Every Cartrack unit is equipped with international roaming capabilities, and can therefore be tracked beyond South African borders where roaming arrangements exist. Secondary radio homing beacons also enable air and ground response teams to locate vehicles in areas where GSM coverage may be sparse. The extensive use of helicopters and, where necessary, fixed-wing aircraft ensures rapid and far-reaching tracking capability.

Effective installation and concealment
The inventive design of the Cartrack unit makes it extremely compact, thus allowing for its effective concealment. Installations are carried out by trained Cartrack technicians and electronic connections are kept to a minimum so as not to interfere with the vehicle’s systems. Free 24-hour unit testing service
Cartrack provides its clients with a free, 24-hour unit testing service. All it takes is one call to the Cartrack control centre and a test will immediately be carried out.

Power monitoring
The Cartrack system uses the vehicle’s battery as its main source of power. In the event of the battery power being disconnected, the unit switches to an internal backup battery. Power failure conditions are also continually monitored to further facilitate recoveries.

De-installation/re-installation services
In the event of a change of vehicle ownership, or if the client wishes to transfer his tracking unit from one vehicle to another, Cartrack will de-install/re-install the unit for a minimal fee.

Unit and installation warranty
Cartrack offers a one year warranty on both the unit and the installation. Since we are accredited by both the insurance and motor industries, Cartrack guarantees that our unit installations will not affect your vehicle manufacturer’s warranty in any way.

This stolen vehicle recovery product is specially designed for installation into trailers used in the transport and logistics industry. Specialized fitment techniques and power supply methods are used for this application. Additionally, ad hoc positioning of a trailer can be done via the internet.
